germination time for strawberry seeds?

I did a search but I did not find how long a seed takes to germinate.

I couldn't resist a cute little strawberry pot kit for my windowsill. I have the best two windowsills for plants but NO plant for them.

Most of the seed type strawberrys are Alpine types. I planted some early this Spring- They are way slow to grow. The package claimed they bear fruit the year after being sowed, but ive heard from people they bear the same year if planted early enough. They also spread by reseeding instead of throwing out runners.
