We are close to landscaping a pool in PLano and looking for Palm varieties that will do well in a Plano backyard. We are pretty much on teh border of 7B and 8A hardiness zones.

There are many species of palms that are hardy enough for the Plano area. Click here to go a link list of websites about palm trees.

I'm in Zone 8a and have Washingtonian Fan palms, cabbage palms, palmetto scrub, and sago palms. Sago palms will burn in freezing temps, but if you prune off all of the brown fronds they grow back quickly.
