HowD Everyone!
My boss gave me the last catnip out of the greenhouse, cuz he was trying to get rid of it. Its been sitting in my window for the past two days now, and i have to keep rotating it every few hours so it doesn't all touch the window, or fall over or something. Can i put it in my terarrium so it'll get lotsa bright light from directly above? Or does it NEED sunlight?

Thanks in advance! [wayey]

Phoebe

hello dream gardener, I looked at your profile to see where you were from...yall get that strange white stuff on the ground when it gets cold huh...Catnip is considered a hardy perennial, though to provide fresh leaves for your kitty year round it would be best to grow it in a pot, so it could be taken it for the winter. In the meantime...you want to get it as strong and healthy as you can to survive the rigors of indoors through the coldest periods, so...repot it for now in a larger container, give it as much outdoor sun as you can. Water only when lightly dry, liquid fertilize at 1/2 strength of whatever the package suggests,(catnip isn't a heavy feeder , but will need a little something when pot grown). An all purpose potting mix should work well, one without additional ammendments, that is...catnip just doesn't need it. Good luck

Hi Thorns! Thank you for the information [Smile] Unfortunately, i can't grow things outside, so i gotta stick to bright sunny windows *which i lack*, Windows that get afternoon sun *which i have a lot of*, my mom's pourch *which i don't like to use, cuz its my mom's, and i don't wana clutter up her stuff* or my Terarrium *Which has two daylight flourescent bulbs in it*

I put it in my terarrium for now. The leaves got really big, and the plant is facing straight up in there o.O Must like it! Do you think it would be okay to keep it in there?

If it helps, the pot that my late venus flytrap is in is a 6" pot, and so is that lil Bird Of Paradice.
