i have this philadandrum that i have had for about a year now, and i have almost killed it off about 4 months ago, and it is doing great now, but it still hasn't grown very much, the longest "arm"or vine on it is only about 6 inches and has stayed that length for quite some time,I have it in a place where it can get adiquate sun, what can i do to get it to grow?

Mine grows very slowly. Not all plants grow as fast as we would like.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

I think maybe their peroids& spurts vary maybe....I have 1 grown inground, then one that is pot grown.the one inground looses its leaves in winter but they always sprout back...it will actually recieve more sun now(ritatreescape)They like humidity& a soil mix thats well draining.I'm not good about fertilizeing mine...but If I spot a new leaf,I fertilize it with 20-20-20.it grows best when its scoorching hot out.Maybe warmer temps will help it grow more.

Heart-leafed Philodendrons are slow growers compared to Pothos. They require a lot of patience.

To enhance growth, keep it potbound and provide a lot of very bright, but indirect light. Fertilizer is overkill and may do more harm than good. So is excess water.

Cool! No wonder mine is still alive after 30 years!
It's been in the same pot for MANY years, and since it never says much I seem to forget to water it very often..and hardly ever give it any food.

I'm a bad plant mother! [Embarrassed]

But, my philo is healthy! [grin]

LOL! Benign neglect often pays off with plants.
