Will Sevin dust burn the leaves on beans. Something was consuming the leaves on my beans so I decided to attack it with Sevin dust. I noticed some days later that large portions of some leaves were brown and brittle, as though scorched. I also noticed some leaves cupping upward. I appreciate any advice

Yes, Sevin dust will work; BUT, the organic solution would be: Neem oil, or Pyrethrum, or better yet,(if your patch isn't large) Hand Pick. The browning and brittleness though, sounds like rust, Never handle your beans when the leaves are wet.
