hi, im not realy much of a flower grower. we got some amaryllis bulbs on clearance for $.87 each. i was wondering how much light they need, they say to avoid direct sunlight. does that mean i can put them pretty much anywhere in my living room? except in front of the window (south facing)? also, what would i have to do to make the bulbs split? and would they be ok planted in the ground in zone 6?

Hi,
I have mine outside on the South side of the house. They get full sun when they do emerge. They all split on their own. I only started with 1 and in less then 3 years I have over 20 of them.
