ANYONE OUT THERE FAMILIAR WITH THE GINGER PLANT FROM TEXAS/
I HAVE ONE AND IT IS ABOUT 2 FOOT TALL, INSIDE MY HOUSE......I WINTERED IT OVER IN THE BASEMENT, AND IT SURVIVED.. BROUGHT IT UPSTAIRS AND NOW IT IS GOING APE..
IT ISNT THE GINGER WE EAT, IS IT?

There's different ones.but ya...ya see them alot in TX growing everywhere& they could be the ediable kind.Mines grown in full sun,but it gets shaded from other plants some so that helps.You want it growing in some bark peat leaf mold mixture rich in organics.some do grow 2 ft some also grow as tall as 6 ft.being up north you can get away with growing in full sun.You can scratch the root with fingernail& tell if is the edible kind.They also have a awesome black ginger........................
