i would like to know what plants are used for insect control and their care? i live in texas so i need to know about if they need full sun or shade.

It depends on what type of plants you are going for. I know that marigolds help with keeping some animals away .. lemon grass, and mosquito plants for mosquitos.Lady bugs for aphids.. what type of area do you have?

Sometimes the best thing for bug control IS bugs.

Last year I had litterally hundreds of spiders in my garden. I also had some preying mantis and believe it or not small frogs. Anyway I had virtually no problem with bugs eating my plants. They did`nt get the chance.

Spiders give me the heebie jeebies!! I have stayed away for several days due to ugly spiders..but the mantis and the frogs are great!! I have a pond in my yard used to have a bull frog in it... kept the skeeters away.

I've heard that basil planted in the garden will help with a mosquito problem.

my uncle in Ca. grows oranges and he uses one species of snail to kill another. the small "tube"looking ones will somehow kill the usual "slug"type.
